Welcome back to CCS! We are so glad you are attending this year. We know the Lord has already blessed our families and will continue to do so as the year progresses. As many of you may have heard, the CCS Athletic Booster Club is leading an effort to upgrade the gym HVAC (heating ventilation air conditioning) system. The current system is commonly referred to as a "swamp or evaporative cooler" and is 15 years old. While we have been blessed to have the system last this long, it has been repaired numerous times the last couple years. We feel like the time is right to upgrade to a new system that would provide refrigerated air conditioning and heat. The system we are currently considering would be a dual 12.5 ton system (25 tons total) which would use dual "duct socks" to distribute the conditioned air. These systems have been installed in several gyms in the area and are a cost affordable option for HVAC upgrades
to an existing structure such as our CCS gym. In addition to cooling more effectively, the new system will not be as noisy as the current system. There are times that it is not utilized so the audience/athletes/etc. can hear the coaches and speakers. It also presents a strain on our instructor's hearing and voices as they deal with the noise on a daily basis. Additionally, a new HVAC would add to the value of the gym and be attractive to new families considering CCS for their children. We would also be able to lease the gym for summer camps, tournaments, and other events. We will be forced to replace the current system soon. It would be wise to upgrade to a more adequate system for the space. The CCS Board has agreed to the installation of this unit in our gym if it can be totally funded before installation. We are still awaiting one more bid from a local vendor, but at this time we can tell you our budget for the project is approximately $50,000.00. The Lord has blessed us with several families that have already pledged $17,500. The Athletic Booster Club will contribute another $10,000. So with your help, we could possibly get this system in this fall and start utilizing it immediately. Please prayerfully consider a contribution to this project. The gym is our largest structure and is used daily by all our students. We hope you will join us in making it a more comfortable and inviting facility.
